The Capital Hotel boasts all the advantages of a larger establishment, yet exudes the warmth, intimacy and attention to detail that only a privately owned property can. It is truly a grand hotel in miniature. The lobby is medium sized and very elegantly furnished. In inclement weather, a welcoming fire burns brightly in the open hearth of the front hall. Also medium sized, the 49 guestrooms are all individually designed and feature original works of art. Fabrics for many of the rooms were chosen from the Ralph Lauren collection, so each has its own special charm and character. The beautiful marble bathrooms are also well maintained. The hotel’s Capital Restaurant, serving gourmet French cuisine under the direction of Head Chef Eric Chavot, has an enviable reputation for excellence. It is currently the only London restaurant situated within a hotel to hold two coveted Michelin Stars.
