The Rydges Kensington Plaza looks very grand from the outside, but the quality and size of the rooms seems to vary widely. None the less, guests appreciate the mostly friendly service and the variety on offer at breakfast.
Lovingly restored to its former glory, the Rydges Kensington Plaza boutique hotel is housed in a traditional beige coloured Georgian building, in keeping with the surrounding period architecture. The medium sized lobby features a smart reception desk to the rear and plenty of comfortable seating. The restaurant is situated to the left of the lobby. Varying in size due to the age of the building, the guestrooms are, on average, quite compact. However, they are comfortable and furnished in a contemporary style. The are also maintained in excellent condition, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel’s Ten Tables restaurant features homemade, authentic Spanish Tapas and Char Grills presented with flair. The buzzy atmosphere, sensational food and creative wine list all combine for a great dining experience. Guests can also relax with an espresso coffee, glass of champagne, light lunch or a traditional afternoon tea in the comfortable surrounds of the Atrium Lounge.
