Whilst the hotel was clean and the Reception staff were very friendly, sadly the bar staff let the hotel down. I ordered a regular coffee and was met by a very blank look -she didn't seem to understand me. I ended up ordering a Cappuccino. I thought the gentleman behind the bar may understand better, and changed my order to a regular coffee. There then ensued a heated discussion between the two of them about my order. I felt quite embarrassed. When my coffee did arrive, it was barely warm. Ideally situated for the Royal Albert Hall. High St Kensington, Portobello Road.

There is a fabulous food market on the High St, which is a must, as it is a great experience.

a very pleasant hotel if not a little on the pricey side, espcially in the bars.

Excellent location, friendly staff, especially Maria. Let down by tired looking room & grotty bathroom.

Bill Wymans' 'Sticky Fingers' for a burger. Couldn't get any closer to West Ken. tube & High Street. Great for the Albert Hall, Museums & Hyde Park.

We were treated really attentively by reception staff, especially Lazlo (think spelt it correctly) I requested some extra tea bags when we returned late evening and also asked if we could have some hot chocolate satchets. The young waiter who bought them to our room was very polite and gave us milk, tea bags and because they do not have hot chocolate satchets gave me a small container with chocolate powder to make our own hot chocolate! This was really lovely and it was really appreciated. I did not see his name badge but would like to thank him and the housekeeping staff on duty Sunday evening after 11 pm.

We did use a lovely restaurant just on Kensington High Street but cannot remember the name.
