Grosvenor House hotel

Park Lane, London W1A 3AA

Our Review

The overwhelming impression given by the Grosvenor House is of opulent design combined with warm, friendly service. Guests love the comfort of the rooms and the wealth of dining options available. The only slight niggle they report is the occasional lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.

Frequented by royalty, celebrities and business leaders since its opening in 1929, the Grosvenor House has recently undergone a £120 million refurbishment and retains its reputation as one of the world's best hotels. With its imposing forecourt graced by the original Lutyens wrought iron gates, it makes a striking impression immediately upon arrival. The 494 guestrooms are very large, elegantly decorated and furnished with antiques. Both the marble bathrooms and the bedrooms are in exceptional condition.
Unsurprisingly, given its reputation, the Grosvenor House also offers a wealth of terrific dining options. Its French restaurant, Bordeaux – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – is where the West End of London meets the west coast of France. Corrigan's Mayfair offers relaxed, stylish dining in luxurious surroundings and serves British / Irish cuisine mainly focused on game, wild fish and seafood. Le P'tit Café offers a selection of pastries and sandwiches to eat in or take away. The Champagne Bar boasts contemporary design set in a distinguished atmosphere and is stocked with an unrivalled selection of Champagne, as well as the UK's first Charles Heidsieck L'Oenotheque. And last but not least, guests can savour a delicious afternoon tea in the Park Room, which is designed to reflect the style, comfort and charm of a living room in an English stately home.
